Lindsey Robrecht

Bilingual Doula in Strasbourg for International Families

Pregnancy in France can feel overwhelming when you don’t know the system or the language.

I’m by your side so you can feel confident, grounded, and deeply supported.

I completed my doula training with the French program Envol & Matrescence in 2025.

You are not alone if…

  • You are pregnant in France and don’t fully understand the healthcare system.

  • You don’t speak French and medical appointments feel stressful.

  • You are part of an LGBTQIA+ family and worry about being misunderstood.

  • You are navigating fertility treatment, grief, or uncertainty.

  • Your partner may not be able to be present.

  • You are a single parent.

  • You need a space to speak freely, without judgment.

You deserve to feel safe, informed, and deeply supported.

What is a doula?

A doula provides emotional, informational and practical support during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

My role is to help you understand your options, feel prepared for your birth, and navigate the French healthcare system with confidence.

I work alongside medical professionals such as doctors and midwives, offering non-medical but complementary support that focuses on your emotional wellbeing and informed decision-making.

ABOUT ME

I first came to France in 2009 and quickly fell in love with life here. Since then, I’ve built my home in France, first in Lyon and now in Strasbourg.

Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to work that helps immigrants and expats feel at home in France, whether through their studies, careers, retirement, or now, the transition to parenthood.

I also became a mother here, giving birth to both of my children in France. Like many international parents, I sometimes found it difficult to know where to find clear information about pregnancy, birth, and parenting in a culture that wasn’t my own. That experience led me to become the resource I wished I’d had for other families navigating this journey, in English or in French.

I completed my doula training with the program Envol & Matrescence in Lyon. Through this training, I support families with:

  • emotional support during pregnancy

  • understanding the maternity system in France

  • preparing for birth and postpartum

  • helping international families navigate care with confidence

  • other life transitions

« Lindsey is a warm, loving, supportive and very knowledgeable doula. She knows how to navigate the French healthcare system so well, and it’s a bonus that she is bilingual — my French is very limited and having her by my side is an invaluable resource. She is the person you can count on and the person you can trust with anything. Her skill set and compassionate nature make her an incredible resource and guide. I couldn’t recommend her services more! »
